QuiltSmart Wedding Ring Workshop

February 12 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Mattie Rhoades, local owner of Quiltsmart, will be our Guest Speaker in February with a Presentation and Trunk Show at our Tuesday, Feb. 11 Business Meeting at the SHARC in Sunriver – followed by a Workshop Wednesday, Feb. 12 from 10 AM to 4 PM at BJ’s in Bend.
In the Workshop we’ll make 2 rings of a Wedding Ring quilt which can be made into a Wall Hanging, a Pillowcase, or the beginning of any size quilt you wish to create.

The Workshop is $25.
Due to construction that will be going on at BJ’s in February, there is only room for 16 participants – and 16 people have already signed up.
If you are one of those who has already signed up, TO RESERVE YOUR SPOT, pay Deb Ewing or Marcia Schonlau IN PERSON before the end of January. After that, we will open the number of spots that have not been paid for – and others can enroll at that time. See or call Deb Ewing  (253.219.7034) to be put on a wait list if you have not already signed up.

We are offering a choice of making:
Traditional Wedding Ring blocks (called Double Wedding Ring) –
Modern Wedding Ring blocks (called Rings on the Double).
The interfacing panels for these blocks will be provided, along with written instructions, and shared use of the Fasturn #6 Tube Turner – needed for both the Traditional and Modern blocks.

If you are making the Traditional Double Wedding Ring blocks, you should plan to purchase a Double Wedding Ring Arc Template on Tuesday (the day of the Presentation / Trunk Show) for $5 (discounted from the regular price $6.00), as you will need it for homework Tuesday before the Wednesday Workshop.

IF you plan to make more than the two blocks we’ll be constructing in the Workshop, you will want to purchase the Quiltsmart Fasturn #6 Tube Turner for $12 (discounted from the regular price of $12.50)at the Workshop.  Additional panels (4 rings per panel) will be available to purchase if you wish to make more or larger projects for $4.00 per panel (regular price $4.75) at the Workshop and Trunk Show.

If you plan to make the Traditional Double Wedding Ring blocks during the Workshop, there will be about 2 hours of homework you’ll need to do Tuesday night before the Workshop Wednesday. Homework will be explained AFTER the Presentation / Trunk Show on Tuesday.
So . . . you will want to plan to stay AFTER Tuesday’s meeting for these quick, fun, and easy instructions, and bring your homework complete to the workshop Wednesday so you can get the most done for your time. Mattie starts at the start time and we are having fun sewing within 15 minutes!
